Leave it to the disgruntled talented ones-

Borrowing from the famous childhood story of the 3 Musketeers, the 4-Strand Bloggerteers are a formidable social justice force to be reckoned with. Using the electronic media platform, these 4 advocates for election, education, civil rights, and gender reforms are about to get medieval-on-yo-ass. Here is who we are:

Richard, the Camera Wizard

Seeing Richard with his Nikon — Coolpix BSOO, 16 Megapixel camera, you would think he’s looking at the entire world- but that is just part of his creative process. His professional photos are used in this blog to add pictorial emphasis to published storylines. His camera work blogs as a pictorial representation of abuse of human rights, oppression, the quest for a revolution, and youth dialogue. Sometimes his photos speak louder than print words which is what any good photo is supposed to say.

Daktari, the Revolutionary One

My first encounter with Daktari was during an education conference dubbed “free at last; education that emancipates all”. She was sitting-in as a plenary speaker- during which she addressed issues about the current state of education in the country. Having read from Daktari’s blog posts, and listening to her address, she already sounds similar. You can hear her through her blog content. She is ever bubbling with a passion for education reforms. Claiming that the current education system is still filled with colonial traits, she advocates for decolonization of our education curriculum.

Mnati, the Griot

The first impression you get on meeting Mnati is that of character with a laid back personality. However, giving him a closer ear, you touch his spirit. Mnati publishes cleverly and artistically written poems on the blog post. His poetry covers on a number of issues. However, top on his interest is an introspection of the pop culture. In his writing, Mnati provokes the youth to wake up and smell the wind of change that is blowing. Appealing to the vibrancy and energy prevalent among the youth, his writing stirs a mental shift in our generation.

Rasta, the One-man-guitar

Music has been known to pass messages of change. However, Rasta has taken this a notch higher; he has used music to cross cultures as a change agent. As a music blogger, his content is posted to deliver change message in a brilliant manner. An insider on the pop culture, his music touches on trendy issues that are affecting the youth. He is a strong promoter of gender equality. His music touches on the plight of both the boy and the girl child. All of his music is available on the blog.

When a cameraman captures the stories that are affecting humankind informs the revolutionary. Richard and Daktari need each other. The poet, on the other hand, listens to the songs of the one-man-guitar. Sometimes the poems are presented in the backdrop of background guitar work. The four are an incredible team of bloggers with no limits. That doesn’t mean you don’t have a say as well. Write to us your ideas and thoughts that can help us understand where our journey can move forward next.
